Building with odds and ends, a thrift store find

Every now and then we head to the thrift store to see what treasures we can find for preschool fun. This time we found a bag full of all kinds of wooden pieces and parts. Various shapes, beads and candle holder pieces were included. We found we can make some great towers just from stacking these pieces. It’s fun to see how many different pieces we could stack, which were easier to balance and how long the tower would stand.

We haven’t quite figured out what we want to make using our grab bag of wooden doo-dads. For now it’s just fun to build towers, play some sorting and matching games and practice counting. What fun ideas do you have to make with all these great wood pieces?
