There are so many ways to talk about the letters of the alphabet with your preschooler. Every object they come across is an opportunity to teach them about one of the letters. Having consistant activies such as flash cards or letter games is a great way to reinforce the information as they learn.

Here’s a quick summary of what’s involved with making an Alphabet box of your own:
You need…
- 1 small organizer cabinet with drawers, similar to the kind used for small hardware or crafts
- Label each drawer with one letter of the alphabet
- Make one a sturdy card for each uppercase letter and each lowercase letter, small enough to fit in the appropriate drawer
- Find 4-8 small objects that begin with each letter to store in the drawers along with the associated letter. These can be pictures of objects, miniatures, small toys, etc.
Put it all together and voila! you have yourself a handy dandy teaching tool that will help with hours of fun learning time.
