Rapunzel is a German fairy tale about a girl with extremely long hair locked in a tower by an enchantress and then later rescued by a prince and they live happily ever after. The story was originally part of the Brothers Grim collection and dates back to 1812. There is a free version from Andrew Lang’s Red Fairy Book, that you can download for free copy from Gutenberg.org
